Meal prepping and How I Do It.
Meal prepping is an art, or a science, depending on how you look at it. From planning your meals, to coupon clipping, to grocery shopping and unpacking. And then ultimately preparing the food you so carefully purchased to feed your family.
I have always been a menu maker, I came by that naturally from my mom. Every Saturday morning I would sit down and write out my menu for the week and then go shopping. This became especially important as the boys got busy with sports and after school activities. I usually asked them if they had any requests for meals for the week just so I would have at least one meal that I knew they would love. I was a lunch packer for them too but it was pretty basic back then. The lunchables and PB&J were old standbys. And they also purchased lunch once in a while. Well, now if I had to do it all over again, I would have had some pretty fun lunches that I would have prepared for them and they would have been way for healthy I’m sure.
Times have only changed a little bit and now I’m only feeding 2 but I still meal plan and grocery shop much the same way. Instead of coupon clipping, I download the coupons to my mobile app for my local favorite stores and then I am very surprised when I go to check out and see all the savings. Not to mention the gas points I get from my local Fred Meyers, Safeway and Albertsons.
In these short videos you will see some of the fun ways that I prep our meals for the week. I hope that you enjoy them all..
